Illinois Medicaid Asset Limits — FundingDependency.com

Illinois publishes conflicting long-term-care resource figures

HFS's general Medical Benefits page says a single applicant may qualify with countable assets of $2,000 or less, while married applicants with assets combined with a spouse may qualify with $3,000 or less (HFS Medical Benefits).

The Illinois Department on Aging's 2026 Medicaid income-and-resource chart instead lists $17,500 for AABD Medical/long-term-care resources, and its Community Care Program page also names non-exempt assets of $17,500 or less (Department on Aging 2026 resource chart; Department on Aging Community Care Program).
