Massachusetts Medicaid Asset Limits
MassHealth’s 2026 asset, home-equity, community-spouse, and income-treatment rules for long-term care.
MassHealth’s 2026 asset figures
MassHealth’s 2026 financial-guidelines page lists a $2,000 MassHealth asset limit for an individual community resident age 65 or older and a $3,000 limit for a married couple in that community-resident table. The governing financial-eligibility regulation likewise states the $2,000 individual and $3,000 couple limits for the cited coverage categories (MassHealth 2026 financial guidelines; 130 CMR 520.000).
Those numbers are not a complete eligibility decision. MassHealth evaluates which assets are countable or noncountable, whether the applicant is institutionalized or living in the community, and, where applicable, the resources of a spouse. A home, trust, annuity, jointly held asset, or recent transfer should not be classified solely from an online asset-limit figure (130 CMR 520.000).
