Hawaii Medicaid Asset Limits
Hawaii’s published 2026 resource standards, medically needy income rules, spousal protections, and home-equity caution.
Hawaii’s 2026 published resource limits
Med-QUEST’s 2026 MAGI-excepted chart lists a $2,000 asset limit for a one-person aged, blind, or disabled household and a $3,000 limit for a two-person household. The same line covers the aged, blind, or disabled group and spenddown; the chart separately lists higher resource standards for Medicare Savings Programs (Med-QUEST 2026 income and asset standards).
Hawaii’s asset rule describes these personal reserve standards as the maximum countable assets that a MAGI-excepted individual or household may hold while establishing or maintaining eligibility. The regulation also says a household above the applicable standard is ineligible, so a bank balance, jointly held account, life insurance, real property, or trust should not be classified without checking the detailed rule (Hawaii asset rule).
